    Hey Rich,

Which nightly build of Gumbo are you using? I just went from 4766 to 4932 and can't compile with the new one (cannot connect to debugger on debug, run just does nothing). Wondering if the app descriptor file changed or something in between those two builds.

Nope, descriptor file's the same... weird!

I was using 4021 (MAX Preview), I've had a few bad experiences with the nightlies so I've been sticking to milestones.

That is such a strange problem. I've only had that a few times, but it was usually due to me doing something like leaving a File.browse dialog open when terminating the app, I'm sure that's not the case there. Anything show up in OS X's Console? (edit: nothing in the Console here)

Actually, I noticed a *lot* of path changes to the compiler Java code in the change logs for the build that came out just before the one you're using:

    http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/changes4.0.0.4890

Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I'm experiencing exactly the same as you, FlexBuilder is not running adl so the debugger fails to connect.

I'm also having issues with adl from the latest Gumbo nightlies (and latest stable) not running on OS X Flex Builder 3.

Tried running it via the command line and it exits with no response, whereas Flex 3.2's adl returns a 'application descriptor file not specified' message.

The MAX Preview version, 4.0.0.4021, still works as expected.

    @Aral & @Cameron,

I had the same issues trying to compile to the latest nightly builds of Gumbo.
However, checking out Gumbo from the repository and building the SDK myself did the trick, I can now use the bleeding edge version of the Gumbo SDK.
    Hope this helps.

    Getting the following Error:
    File does not exist: C:\AaPROJECTS\flex_sdk_4.0.0.4932_mpl\bin\adl.exe.
C:\AaPROJECTS\flex_sdk_4.0.0.4932_mpl is where my Flex4SDK is extracted.
    Can you please help,
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

Now using the 4.0.69XX nightly builds, and have updated this post to reflect the changes.

Re #8: And be prepared to edit any skin you find on Scale9 before using it in Gumbo thanks to the namespaces in CSS changes. Not a fan!
