    I use Flex for the browser and WinFX for the desktop. The advantage to Flex is the cross-browser, cross-platform runtime. But WinFX has true 3D viewports and controls built-in, and integrates smoothly with existing DirectX and .NET assets.

    Architecturally, they are both designed for rapid development and deployment so for content producers I think it's win-win all around.

    As far as the ultimate throwdown, let's let the apps speak for themselves ;)

    Avalon/WPF is indeed really nice for creating attractive applications. I have been working with for some time now to create some cool demos to be included with Hydra and/or Chrome.

    And I have to say that the combination of the XAML import tool for Illustrator makes it a lot of fun. For example, a recreation of some MAcOSX widgets didn't take less then three hours, which include the Clock, Weather. Of course, the most time toke to redrw it in Illustrator
