Not the best or most robust solution but MS offers a free tool called synctoy:

Personally I use this tool to back up stuff on a semi regular basis to another HD and submit as much as possible to my remote server via SVN. That server is then again backed up by an automated system called Disksync which my hosts runs (Disk Sync is pretty cool: http://www.theplanet.com/services/upgrades/server/disksync.html).

    Yet I still don't feel safe :-)

SyncToy looks quite cool. I have a couple of the other PowerToys (Calc/TweakUI) so I might give that a quick spin to see if it does everything required. Cheers.

SyncBack works great for me. I have it scheduled to perform a backup in the middle of the night, every night, so the most I can lose is one day's worth of work.

I'm using Carbonite, it's great! Peace of mind for $5/mo. Does its job with no strain on speed/performance of my comp.
